I am planning on knitting this HUGE skein into a hat and mitt combo for my little cousin. It turned out prettier then I though it would. it's 200 yards of bulky weight yarn 50% merino and 50% silk. the brown is merino and the pink and blue is silk.
I''m still working on those great socks for Drew. I'm getting quite far on the gusset and almost ready to turn the heal. once I have gotten to the heal I will take some photos of before and after the heal.
I have been super busy with school. My lit instructor thinks that it is really fun having to do and essay once a week. Bio isn't much better with all the reading and labs and tests once a week. But really I can't complain what else would I do with my free time?? Well besides the obvious of working.
How do you wash merino and silk? I guess it can't go in the dryer? The yarn you've made is lovely. I know someone who needs a new toque because his wife put his in the dryer and shrunk it! The good news is it looks really good on her.
ReplyDeleteMerino and silk.. you would have to hand wash and lay to dry. these are raw fibers that aren't processed so the grain is still in them and if rubbed together they will felt. the silk wont but the merino will.
ReplyDeletewell if A needs a togue.. he just needs to ask.
