Well how exciting that I have my own post about my love of knitting and spinning and also about my beautiful Long dog!
I have recently bought a lovely new book called French Girl Knits And plan on starting up a couple of projects from the book in the near future.
Right now I am busy spinning some beautiful Alpaca and silk in a blue colorway and I will be plying the single with an Alpaca and silk in a pink colorway. I love the look of pink and blue together.
My knitting project right now are my very first pair of socks and they have been extremely horrible to me. They love to twist on the needles, drop their stitches, knit up crooked and ruin the pattern. I am guilty of knitting the heal to short and now have to frog back and add more length to the foot. I guess I forgot to mention that I am knitting these socks in the magic loop from toe down. I didn't get the increases to smooth down so the toes are square. These are likely the ugliest pairs of socks ever. However the color is amazing but my knitting isn't. I am using a thin sock yarn on a size 2.5 addi turbo circular.
I have actually started a second pair of socks using the same method. This time I am using a thicker sock yarn and a size 4 needle (addi turbo circular 32") in Bamboo. I will have to take pictures. But this this time around is going a lot smoother and a lot quicker. Increasing at the toes are making a nice round toe and I only needed 42 stitches around.. Unlike the first awful pair that took 64 stitches.
I"m thinking of just frogging the first pair and keeping the yarn until I am more acquainted with sock knitting.
So I am attaching a picture of my first pair of socks. you will notice the pattern is all over the place and the toes are a little twisted and square.
Blue and pink do look lovely together. Congratulations on your blog!
