The hours slip by very, very slowly on a 24 hour shift. I have been trying to motivate my client for 3 hours to do her homework. What a tedious job I have. But because of the job I have, I get to blog more often! today I plied my pink and blue alpaca, silk blend singles together! It looks really pretty. It took such a long time because I was going fairly thin for sock weight. My client called this bobbin of yarn for her socks, but then realized that it was blue and pink and not purple and pink. So I'll put this skein away for my etsy shop.
Drew (hubby) and I are planning our glorious holiday to the kootenays, Tofino, and Salt spring island. After 4 years of being married we will finally be able to go on our honey moon! I'm hoping to stay one night in a bed and breakfast while in Tofino. and I want to camp the rest of the nights in the car. I am going to buy some fabric for curtains in the car so we can sleep past 6am when the sun comes out. We will also bring the tent for sleeping on the sand in tofino. Drew and I keep bickering about what vehicle we will take on our trip. He drives a new Honda Civic and I drive a mid 80's volvo wagon with a couple hundred thousand km's on it. But I think that the bigger the car the better, for vacations at least. Both of us can sleep in the volvo without any problems and I can stretch out too! (I love being short some times). I have to fix the volvo up a bit. It needs a new alternator, and I also have to re-seal the doors and windows. (I found that it leaks yesterday while going threw a car wash) Drew would like to take his car because it it reliable. I agree that it is reliable. But it just doesn't have the room for all of our camping gear and goodies that I will likely buy. Plus you can't sleep in it..... and also it just doesn't have the class that my Volvo has. LOL.
Anyways. I made some great crazy batts on my drum carder the other day so I am hoping to spin one today and ply it with a different one tomorrow. I also bought a bunch of beads and other things to funk up my yarns a bit. I'm really excited about doing art yarns. You get to be so much more creative while spinning.
Anyhoo. I'm going to crack the whip on my client.
Cheers
2 places you need to go on Saltspring. The view point on the top of Mount Maxwell and Barb's Buns downtown (they have the best cheese sticks on the PLANET) If you go through Duncan at any point you MUST go to the Loom Room in Whippletree. It's well worth an extra few minutes in your drive to go there.
