Birthdays are coming!

Oh my goodness I do not like March and April.... and November/December. These are the months that myself, a crafter, despises. April is my families birthday month. Mom, dad, aunty, grammy and myself all have birthday within 3 days. Mom and mine on the 8th, Aunties on the 9th and Dad and his mom (grammy) are on the 10th.

I don't craft for my Aunts birthday, but the other four? I sure do! I am busy knitting, throwing and beading to my little hearts content. Well more like I have to much on the go. Maybe I will have to purchase a gift or two this year.

As a rule I try not to buy gifts for people. I like making things, Its cheaper and it is from the heart. I actually think about what I am going to make, plan it, illustrate it, and then put in the countless hours in finishing the object. I know that my family actually enjoys these things I make. So they will continue to get my hand made gifts.

Other people, I have found, don't really understand getting hand made gifts. I have had it happen a couple of times that I make something for someone and they look at it and say "nice" and then put it down. I think it is because my stuff looks like someone MADE it. It doesn't look like the things you can buy at the store. My stuff is never perfection. I feel guilty and embarrassed when I get a bad reaction to things I make.

So to keep me from getting mad at someone for not having the "proper reaction." I just give my pieces to my parents and some other specially chosen family members.

I have finally taken some pictures of some pottery I have made.
