bisque

well today I had some inspiration from etsy.com and went to the studio confident and excited.
this is what I accomplished
1) a hand thrown tea pot. the body was done on the wheel and the rest was hand built. It will hold 4 cups of tea and has a built in strainer. the lid is light and hollow!

2) This is a cute little roasting pot. Great to roast dips in the oven with. I am excited to make artichoke dip in it when it is finished.( it does have two handles)
3) This is my first major piece thrown on the wheel. It is a huge casserole/roasting dish. It will be perfect to bake lasagna in or cook a ham in. I decided to do nub handles instead of traditional handles. I was concerned about the weight of the pot/lid (8 pounds) plus the casserole would break off the handle.

The dish and lid will lighten up once fired and will shrink a tiny bit. I can't decide what to glaze it. I was thinking a brown with white or maybe blue with white.

I hope that I can keep this up. If I can keep up the consistency then I know that I have gotten better at pottery. However this may have been a fluke and I am still quite shitty.
