Drew and I have been so busy with work and living the Vancouver life. I"m still working full time evenings and Drew is now working down town at a different store and works days. It sucks working opposite shifts but it will only be for a while longer.
I start welding school on Monday and my stomach is turning. It is super scary spending a ton to do something that you may or may not hate. I expect that in the end I will like it, but think that the beginning will be super hard. I have read some of the welding books already so I know a bit about what I will be doing. I don't want to go in being the only person who has never welded. I'm sure most students took some sort of welding in high school.
We got to see Doug a couple of weeks ago. Drew's sister and her husband just returned from a long visit to Thailand. We all met up for a fantastic dinner at the Sand Bar on Granville Island.
I have been working out with a personal trainer often. I love it! So far I have lost about 5 inches off my body and 1.6% body fat! I'm pretty much amazing since most people my size only lose .5-1% body fat. It is an amazing feeling giving away almost all your clothes to someone who needs them. I'm stuck with 2 pairs of pants and a few shirts now. However I wont buy anything else until I'm down a couple more sizes just to save some money.
My computer finally hit the dust so I am not able to post pictures as my tablet doesn't have usb ports to connect my camera.
I have started to weave a scarf for myself out of tosh sock yarn and am using emerald city and twig as the colors (sorry for the weavers talk). I love how subtle the pattern is and how luxuriously soft the yarn is. I am using a new method of putting paper under the warping threads however the warp ends keep falling off the paper and making the tension loose or way to tight. I think I may have to take the paper out and re tighten the warp. But knowing me, that will back fire.
Drew and I are thinking about where we want to move next. Although we love Vancouver, it is a very expensive place to live. I'm done school in June and then we can move anywhere in BC until I have my red seal certificate to allow me to work anywhere in Canada. Halifax has the large boat building contract, so maybe I could get a job there welding? I do need to come back to get more levels of welding however school is only 4 months long after this year and then 2 months long after that. I can easily find a place to live for such a short term.
The Dogs are amazing as always. Smudge seems to be getting a little fat so he is on a diet. Lola seems to be thin so she gets to eat a bit more. Its funny how even dogs have different body types. Smudge is way more active and eats the same as Lola but is a lot fatter. Poor boy
Yesterday night Drew and I were searching craigslist free stuff and found that someone was giving away their bed frame and box spring! We emailed and withing 2 min got a call back asking if we could come right away. So last night Drew and I got to sleep off the floor for the first time in ages! We feel like real adults now. HAHA. It is funny to see a king size bed in such a tiny room. We literally only have a couple of feet on either side of the bed and a half foot at the end. But now the heat doesn't blow in our face and the dogs can't get on the bed.
Other then this, I have been spending some of my spare time downtown at the art gallery for Occupy Vancouver. I know it has some bad publicity since a girl over dosed. but I still like what Occupy stands for. I think the media is giving Occupy such a bad name however it is such a wonderful cause. Plus they have free food that is delish!
I read and really impressed form your topic. I have come some advice to about Welding School or Welding Certification nationwide. Thanks for sharing.....welding courses in North Dakota
