Today I went grocery shopping and standing in the baking isle spoke to a senior asking her if she had ever made butter tarts. She said "never successfully" and told me about how hard tarts were to make. This made me panic since I promised to make my Drew some for Christmas.
Well Drew made the pastry and I made the butter part.

they are amazing!
With the left over pastry We made a couple little apple/pear turn overs.
Last night I made bread. I made a loaf of focaccia and a loaf of regular bread. I wanted to have home made bread for stuffing on Christmas. I have it in my head that home made bread crumbs will make the stuffing better.
Drew and I both have Christmas off this year! I don't think it has happened in the last 5 or 6 years that we could spend the whole day together. We are skipping gifts this year and just making a wonderful meal for the two of us to share and enjoy together. Love each others company.
What better gift than somthing to be shared?
