This may have been one of ths best Christmases ever!
I got to see all of my relatives for the holiday, the first time in almost 20 years!
The highlight of the trip was ice fishing with my wonderful gramps, His awesome friend George, my fun uncle and my only two boy cousins-turns out that they are rad!.....and Greg
The cousins gift exchange was great too! I had no idea that we were such a crafty bunch. Lola and Alfie love their homemade treats, and I love my home made hand scrub.
It is such a strange thing to be so removed from your extended family. My cousins are no longer cute little children. They are all adults, with personalities, differences, and beauty. I was constantly reminded that I missed them growing up. They have inside jokes, and a closeness that I was never able to take part in. And even being 5-10 years older then them, they were gracious enough to include me.
I have an amazing family.
Realizing you are part of something so big and beautiful as this extended family is the best gift!
