Quesnel

Well, We love Quesnel.
I do anyways.
Drew likes it, however doesn't love it yet.

There is so much to do here, Lots of rivers to go swimming and tanning at, gold panning, mud bogging, rodeos, garage saling, Barkerville and Wells or just hanging out out at home.

We have been hunting out scenic and quiet spots on the rivers. We have been quite successful and have found a spot on the Cottonwood River and a spot on the Quesnel river.

This is our spot on the Quesnel river. We bought lawn chairs just for this reason

We had to hike a little to get to this spot on the cottonwood river

This little guy was on the log behind Drew in the above photo

Drew and I went to the gold panning championships in Barkerville. We found out that we were using the wrong technique when we go gold panning.

The first weekend I was here happened to be Billy Barker days, which is like Quesnels IPE (Armstrong fair). It is a huge production full of free music, an out door mall, barn dance, mud bogs, rodeo and so much more. It would have been fun to have Drew with me at the time. However I met a lot of people and never felt alone.

I bought this hat for Billy Barker days, but wear it all the time.

This was at the mud bogs. I sat alone and within a half hour had met 10 or 15 people and had a blast!

Garage saling is HUGE here. People go crazy for them. It is a lot like Brandon MB only more expensive. People love buying things here, it doesn't matter what, as long as its something.
But people are willing to pay. I'm used to Vancouver where crap is just given away. Our last two places in Vancouver were furnished with free stuff. People in Quesnel love to sell everything. People want $200 for ugly dark brown tv stands from the 80's. It seems so backwards as people are giving away horses, cat and dogs. But in the city people want a lot of money for pets.

Anyways, we made a large garage sale haul last weekend. We got 2 large boxes of kitchen stuff. a teak table that expands, a fan, and all sorts of other things. I am so happy to have SO MUCH tupperware. I have the same stuff that my mom used to have- Likely from the 80's or earlier.

garage sale haul!

For the last week I have been sick with a sinus cold and ear infection. I had to miss two days of work and sit around feeling sorry for myself since Drew has a job now.
Smudge kept me company though.
And I'm pathetic and had to go to the doctor for medicine

And this is the livingroom of our place. Can you tell it's a trailer?
We really like having our own place. The owner takes great care of it, and has no issues fixing things. The dogs like the yard and we love the BBQ
