well here is a pair of socks that I knit in a couple of days. they are pretty great except the yarn I used was very thick and thin so the thinner parts seem a little crunchy. But I love the colors and I like the roll down cuff (totally to lazy for ribbing the top)

Everyone, this is Sleeping Beauty. Sleeping Beauty, this is everyone. I have to take her to my local yarn shop as for some reason the yarn I spin isn't going on the bobbin. So I'm having a bit of a problem with tension. my Kromski wheel is a totally different set up so I'm not totally sure how this one works. Any suggestions?

This is my new and wonderful Drum Carder. I have carded a few crazy batts and love all of them. Its so neat to be able to make something from the very beginning to the very end.
Today I also bought a bunch of feathers, beads and other odds and ends to put in my yarn. I love making the normal everyday yarn but am hoping to branch off a bit into art yarn. I'm still planning to open my
etsy.com shop but need more stuff to sell. I cant wait to go to the Okanagan to pick up some llama fiber from a relative.
Also today I got my volvo on the road!! I'm thinking that I need to get a new alternator though as all of my dashboard lights and the stereo keep going off. Also the battery light is on.. grrr. This car is starting to cost more than it is worth.
You probably already tried this, but have you adjusted the tension below the flyer? It's the knob on the main part of your spinning wheel.
ReplyDeleteI will try again. I'm sure I have but I thought it was just attaching the full flyer to the main part of the wheel. I don't think that I knew that it was a tension knob..see, I need you to come over and help!
