Well we are doomed with this golf... The people who bought it decided not to take it after taking it to a mechanic and finding out that you couldn't give this car away.
there was a long list of things that was wrong with the car. and now I'm even more scared to drive it.
It has a new head gasket that was put in only a year or so ago and it is about to blow
needs new shocks and struts
has one major oil leak with numerous others
something with a pan......
e-brake leaver needs work.
the list goes on. Pretty much the mechanic said he wouldn't even offer 1500 for the car.
So here we are again. I think it is getting to the point where we need to get a good but used car. Something late 90's or early 2000's. We just need something that is reliable, safe and fun. The truck is in much better mechanical condition then this golf. And the truck looks like crap!
I wouldn't give up on selling it, there are a lot people out there that love VW's even in crappy condition. I suggest you put some stop leak in the engine now for the oil leak/head gasket issue before it gets any worse! It's one of those things where it's worth it to get the $20-25 bottle of goo! and could help keep things from getting worse...
