The Bird

Well last time I hiked up Lac Du Boise I forgot my drivers license at where I had a picnic.
I carry my license on me when I walk for ID just in case something happens. I want to be identified just in case someone pulls my teeth out and clips off my fingers. lol

Anyways today I went back to look for my license. And guess what was following us? The bird!
This time the bird brought its family. It had a spouse and a smaller bird (baby maybe?)
The dogs had to walk on a leash as the birds were pretty close to us.
I got a better look this time. Any help identifying it would be great.
Stats:
*reddish in color
*huge 4-6 feet full wing span
* has a white stripe over the top of the tail
* has an eagle sounding call.

And look what I found



Today we went much further down the trail. We got to a point where the trail drops way down into this very pretty valley. Next time I go out for a hike I plan on following the trail farther down into the valley.
