Wow, Time has been flying. I have already been in my welding course for a month and it seems like it has only been a week at most.
I LOVE welding, no joke! Mom and dad make fun of my welding ego, but it isn't hard to have a huge ego when you are the best in your class. That's right folks. I am a good welder!

Lap joint and single v weld and a jittery free hand torch cut- all on steel

I love everything about welding! I love not having to talk to anyone, I love knowing what I will be doing every day.
I love that I have an expectation of my welds, I love the pressure I am under and the slight danger that I am in every time I get into the shop.
I love the smell of welding and the noises. I love the machinery, and the manliness of it all.
I mostly love that I can weld circles around almost everyone in my class. I hate not being able to brag about how good I am to the rest of my class. However my teacher does talk about how good I am and it only adds fuel to my ego fire.

Anyways, enough about how great I am.

We are super excited about the holiday's. Even though Drew and I have to work threw it, it is nice to have each other. Drew has Christmas day off and I work until 4pm. We are making plans with Drew's sister and her husband for dinner. We are hoping to go to Denny's or for some cheap Chinese food. But we may resort to cooking dinner here, which wouldn't be too bad either. It's hard since Robyn's husband is so allergic to pet hair.

We have our little tiny Christmas tree up and decorated. We found the coolest tree ever this year. It is a rosemary bush in the shape of a tree! So we get to eat and smell the tree all year round.

Drew is still working at Merchies tea. He is still looking for a different job and has only had one call back. The economy really is bad when the only other job to call back is a pizza place. We are hoping that maybe Drew could get a job driving a bus for the time being. He is looking into taking a course at BCIT to upgrade his degree and specialize in something. He was kicking the idea of train conductor or engineer. We will see what he decides.

I have requested holidays off at the end of this month however I still haven't found out if I got the days off or not. I will be disappointed if I don't get them as I would love to come down to the interior for the new year. I have a feeling that I wont get the holiday though. I will find out if I get a reading break during the spring and will request that time off of work if this holiday doesn't work out.

We had our Christmas dinner the other night at Drew's cousins home here in Vancouver. It was so nice to see his side of the family. Doug was there too! he gave us a beautiful set of new pots and pans. They are super heavy and cook everything perfectly even! So far we haven't ruined them with burned rice or oatmeal.

Drew has been super supportive and wonderful while I am in school and working. Every night he makes a large lunch for me so I don't' have to worry about what I am going to eat. I'm finding it really hard to manage my time between school and work and all other things. Drew has been the perfect husband keeping things running smoothly at home. Without him, things would have fallen apart already. Drew does everything from doing the laundry to making dinner, walking the dogs and grocery shopping! It really helps having such a wonderful man around. Thank you Drew!

A couple of weeks ago my trainer did my measurements again. This time I lost a whopping 7 inches off my body and 1.5 % body fat! How cool is that!? I lost 5 inches off my abdomen alone. I still haven't lost a single inch off my arms. But I do have a rather large muscle in my calf that makes me look like a have a calf fat roll. Yuck. I'm working hard to lose more weight but with being so busy I have lost a bit of interest. But I am sure that I will continue to lose weight but maybe just a bit slower now.

Other then that, things are pretty normal. Car runs good, dogs are healthy, cat is needy and vocal and our place is still tiny. Hopefully we can move out of the city this summer and move somewhere we would never expect to live. Maybe in the Cariboo or Kootenays? Who knows where we will end up. But its exciting to think about!
