Poor pup

Well it seems that sick dogs catch our hearts. 

Smudge with all his issues and now Alfie.

Alfie has been sick since we got him, first he had a UTI, then Crystals in his urine without a UTI, then kidney issues, on th weekend he had the doggy flu, now he is being tested for diabetes. 

Saturday night scared me the most. I had my girlfriend over for the day and Drew was at work with the car. Alfie refused food and water all day and was lithargic. Just after dinner he started barfing, and not just little barfs. We had to take him to an emergency vet by cab. The vet gave him a shot to keep him from barfing. The next day he was still sick and we had to take hm to his normal vet again. He got two more shots and then he seemed ok.

Today he spent all day, from 8am to 10pm at the vet. They are tracking his urine through the day to see if his urine can star consintrated. 

I'm not sure why we choose sick dogs. We chose Alfie because he was a mutt and mutts are normally healthier. Not in our case.
