All Things New

Drew and I have been quite spoiled lately. As most of you know, we sold our last 2 cars. That's right people. I sold Luna. She did go to a caring home and the new owner only haggled the price down by one hundred dollars. Drew sold his car to two nursing students that need to get around to practicums and horrible hours. and voila we have money for new cars.
We decided that we would like both a car and a truck. I got to choose the truck and Drew got to choose the car.

I chose a wonderful 1988 Nissan pickup in a lovely teal color (barf). I paid way to much for it, however it is very reliable and cute as a bug.

Speaking of bug. Drew decided with a late 90's model VW golf. It wasn't a car that I would have chosen. But he wanted it. So he got it. Its black and has a sunroof and is cute. But I don't feel safe driving it... It isn't a Luna, that's for sure.

While in Vancouver I did a little shopping. I bought a new wardrobe and love getting dressed now. I not don't have to wear the same pants more then once a week!

We came home with a little cash in hand. Drew and I decided to spend it on practical things. I got a used sewing machine and a used desk from Penny Pinchers (it's amazing and painted blue to boot!) We also bought bed side tables. real ones! no just card board boxes any more!!! they are made out of bamboo and then have 2 grass drawers. they are pretty nice. We also got bed side lamps and some kitchen things from ikea on our way home.

We made an appointment to get the dogs fixed! hurray! No more heats and stinky smudge pee.

We have also met the new tenants up stairs. They moved in last Thursday and they are horrible. They are so mean that they made me cry. They own a daycare and we get to hear kids screaming and running about the hard wood floors above us. We get to listen to the lady yell and scream and then she smokes outside our bedroom window. They have already picked a fight with us about the use of the back yard. And talk loudly about us so we can hear them. It is a horrible, horrible situation. It feels like we live in the slums. When we get home our stomachs sink and we realise that we are home... Home to these very mean people above us.

Nothing would be better then owning our own little place. Just a trailer with a little yard. And we could be happy. Why can't we find a suitable place to live? It doesn't seem that it should be this hard. It's annoying as well because all of my friends (and some of Drew's) have bought homes. I'm in my late 20's and I"m ready too. I just want a quiet and safe place to live with my husband, dogs and cats.

anyways. enough with my rant and whoas me. Other then our living situation, life has been wonderful to us and I shouldn't complain. I hemmed 4 pairs of pants today, ate yummy pancakes with black berries. And my dogs have been fairly well behaved. I love my new truck and my new desk/sewing table and my new computer chair is comfortable

  1. Hi Kirsten,
It's terrible to live in a place with bad people. I definately understand. It's very weird that renters have a daycare, isn't it?

I am envious of your pants situation. I have to do laundry very very often so I have something to wear.

Thanks for your condolences about my grandma. I wish I was able to go to her funeral.
